What to do in the Longboat Key area?

Mote Aquarium (7.1  miles), St. Armand's Circle (8.1 miles), Marie Selby Botanical Gardens  (11.2 miles), Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall (11.3 miles) or John and  Mable Ringling Museum Complex (14 miles).                      

Longboat Key restaurants include: Blue Dolphin Cafe (.3 miles), Euphemia Haye Restaurant (.5 miles), Harry's Continental Kitchen (.6 miles),  MarVista Backside Restaurant and Pub (3.1 miles) or The Dry Dock Waterfront Grill (6.3 miles). 

Anna Maria Island has endless beaches and fun dining on the water.  Bradenton is the home of spring training for the Pittsburgh Pirates.  Sarasota is less than 8 miles away and offers unique water activities, shopping and tourist attractions.  

From Coquina Beach on Anna Maria Island to downtown Sarasota via Longboat Key and St. Armand’s Circle. Daily service runs from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. every 60 minutes. Trolleys offer both air conditioned and open-air seating. The fare is $.75 (discounted rates available for senior citizens). The Longboat Key trolley does not operate major holidays including but not limited to New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.   

Tampa is 60 miles away and features Busch Gardens, Florida Aquarium. Orlando is 130 miles away and features Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld and Walt Disney World. 

There is year round pro sports action in Tampa Bay. Follow the MLB Tampa Bay Rays, NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneers, NHL Tampa Bay Lightning, as well as the New York Yankees spring training, and a number of semi-pro and collegiate teams at Tampa Bay’s premier pro sports facilities.
